Popcorn. Caramel Popcorn.

Chewy Caramel  Popcorn

This is the real deal- straight up- homemade stuff that no store brought popcorn can beat. This is my older sissy’s recipe(credit goes to her!)- she hasn’t made it in awhile so I had to take up the family trade.

After I made this family recipe all this started happening-

I don’t know if this popcorn makes people go wacko- or if they were just that way before.

CAUTION: I am NOT responsable for any cray cray situations that might happen after eating this popcorn.

6 cups of popped popcorn (non buttered.)

2 cups of brown sugar

1 cup of butter

1/2 cup of corn syrup

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

Preheat oven for 250 degrees.

Melt butter,syrup, and sugar in medium saucepan  and bring to a boil for five minutes, stir constantly.

Once caramel starts to boil, turn down to medium high. Remove from heat. 

Immediately add baking soda,salt, and vanilla. Stir quickly; it will get fluffy!

Pour popcorn into a roaster or baking pan with high sides. Pour caramel over popcorn and stir until well combined.

Bake at 250 degrees, stirring constantly for about five minutes for chewy and ten minutes for crunchy.
