So as you can obviously see (if you follow me on Pinterest @April Marie), I have been pinning a lot of natural hair styles. I recently got my hair cut in January. (Photo below.) It was a tapered cut, and i trimmed the top. I was so nervous when i was getting it done, it was my first haircut. At first I wasn’t really a fan; but it grew on me fast., I also like it because it wasn’t as high maintenance as my hair had been.

Now I have extensions in, and an undercut. I had my dad cut it the first time at the beginning of February (it feels like just yesterday!), and he cut it again last week, since its been growing on the sides pretty fast. I am so in love with this style. It’s been easy to maintain, and I like that I can switch sides to have the under shave show, plus i can wear really cute earrings. (Photo below)

After i take my extensions out in a week or two I would really like to put some color in. My sister has a short tapered cut and has a redish-purple tint to her’s. It’s so pretty. When I had my tapered cut I would put on my foundation and then rub whatever was left on my hand, onto the crown of my hair, it was so groovy, it was subtle too, just a light brown. Honestly, hair color kind of scares me. I’ve tried it twice before but of course my super dark hair wouldn’t allow it. I’m also nervous because my hair is natural and i really don’t want to do too much damage to it. I really like a cotton candy blue or pink most, or maybe a dark blue. I would like to cut my hair really short, like it is on the sides, but on all of my hair. But i do want to be able to put extensions in during the summer, so…

Top 10 Emmy Award Fashion 2013

OKay y’all, I must say that I don’t usally watch the Emmy Awards simply because they have always seemed kinda boring to me. But this year, it was good. I took out my notebook and jolted down everything that stood out to me. Fashion, humor, make-up, awards (you don’t say?), etc. So here I am to state my favorites of last night, and my least favorites, and of course I’ll tell you why I loved them or why I didn’t.

10. Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler one of my number one funny ladies looked gorgeous last night.  She was wearing a Basler gown and Irene Neuwirth jewelry. I love the illusion neckline with the turtleneck appeal. The skirt of the dress had golden lace crowned around the hip of the dress. \

Speaking of, is anyone else excited about season 6 of Parks and Recreation? It’s kinda my favorite comedy on right now. I will be watching September 26th.

I adored her in this purple Marchesa resort 2014  gown. It’s was a simple elegant gown, I really like the bodice.

8. Anna Gunn

I loved the light pink  Romona Keveza sleeveless gown. The symmetric black crusted black lace paired really well with the fit and flare light pink.

7. Kaley Cuoco

I really adored this deep red Vera Wang corseted gown. And the tulle, oh I loved it. She looked like she should be in Phantom Of The Opera (in a positive way.)

6. Morgan Saylor

I really like this minimalist Honor Fall 2013 gown. It was elegant and fun, and had a simple stated silhouette.

5. Mindy Kaling (Muh’ home gurrrl!)

She wore a short sleeve deep purple Edition by Georges Chakra gown with a cutout jeweled neckline. I must say- she looked very amazing.

4. Kiernan Skipka

loved this gown. The fourteen year old Mad Men star wore a Delpozo gown and Kimmy Choo shoes. The gown was so fun and bright, I think it was very age appropriate and stunning. I loved the floral detail and jeweled skirt.

3. Sarah Hyland

I really loved her Carolina Herrara gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. The forest green shade was gorgeous, i loved her hair and makeup, and the gathered plunge with the gorgeous black lace with amazing.

The ladies of  Modern Family all looked stunning last night.

2. Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne In Calvin Klein Collection - 2013 Emmy Awards

The Brides Maid actress, girlfriend of Bobby Cannavale’s look was simple, elegant and stunning in Calvin Klein. I adored her two-pieced look.  The shade of pink was just right, I liked the halter top and criss-cross band below her bust. It was most definitely one of my favorite looks of the night.

1. Claire Danes

Claire Danes In Armani Privé - 2013 Emmy Awards

Claire’s look was breathtaking. How do I even begin to describe how much I loved her in this Armani Privé Fall 2013 gown. I mean- wow. Her blonde bob and red lips combo was so classic and the feathered sequin plunge with the low gathered back and flowing embroidered lace skirt was so effortless.
